STUDIO SMOOTH

Music by Neil Panton

My Original Music

Studio Smooth is my private studio nestled in the beautiful San Gregorio watershed on California’s San Mateo coast. Drawing on classical training and years of touring, gigging and recording, I combine a variety of styles into my own blend of music. I look forward to sharing it with you here!

Neil Panton

Singer, Songwriter, Composer

I’ve dedicated my life to appreciating, understanding, and exploring music. I’m captivated by how music is constructed and the stories that music can tell. This passion has driven me to write and record original compositions for over five decades.

The Studio

Home-based project studio
on the coast

I’ve always loved recording. Though I have an extensive background performing with rock, blues and funk bands, as well as symphony and chamber orchestras, I always return to my studio to work on original music. My numerous compositions are a testament to a life spent in love with music and sound.

Tune in!

Music of the
San Mateo Coast

My radio program,
Music of the San Mateo Coast is on the air every day at 3PM and 9PM on community radio KPDO, 89.3 FM in Pescadero, and KZSG, 90.7 FM in San Gregorio. This hour-long program features local musicians and songwriters who, like me, are inspired by our beautiful coastal community.

Ronald
Alexander Panton

My father, Ron Panton, was a musician and prolific arranger and composer. He wrote mostly for wind ensembles but also wrote a handful of orchestral pieces. I’ve dedicated a page to his many compositions and arrangements for wind, string, and piano ensembles. You can also read a history of his long and interesting life as a California native.
